About ATTENTION!
Who runs this
One solo editor in the UK. I'm a history + podcasting + AI tinkering enthusiast. Feedback very welcome — I work on this every week to make it better and better.
How it works
ATTENTION! uses AI for triage and a human editor for judgement. Software scans 35 podcast feeds every week and drafts assessments; the editorial standards — what counts as operational depth, which claims need verifying, what voice this newsletter speaks in — are set and reviewed by a person. Every factual claim in the editorial features (museum holdings, archive references, historiographical debates) passes a source-verification step before it ships, and every verified claim carries provenance you can ask us about.
What we cover — and what we don't
Military history podcasts, specifically: campaigns, command, logistics, intelligence, and the machinery of war, from the ancient world to the recent past. Not general history, not current-affairs commentary, not politics. When an episode is mostly social or political history with a thin military layer, the digest says so.
Cadence and history
One email every Friday, published continuously since 28 March 2026. The archive of every edition is at attentionbriefing.me/archive.
How feeds are chosen
The source list is hand-maintained — 35 feeds across three tiers, from dedicated military-history shows to broad history feeds that are filtered for military content. The list is reviewed quarterly; suggestions are welcome via the Sources page.
How to support ATTENTION!
Forward it to a friend. That's the entire growth strategy.
