The Dangerous Shore with Sara Vladic – Episode 547
former chief historian, National WWII Museum
Selection · Edition 2026-03-28
Seth Paridon and Jon Parshall talk to Sara Vladic about her book covering the unlikely coalition — mob bosses, volunteer pilots, double agents — that helped defend the American coastline during WWII. It's a home front episode, which is unusual territory for this show, but the U-boat threat and coastal defence angle keeps it grounded in the war. At 90 minutes with Vladic's deep research chops, it's a good listen even if it's not operational history.
